Previous to the scoring debacle, some cat named 10esseetony was in the lead, making at best 710,000 ppd, getting chased by number two, stoneageman (typically 690,000 ppd).

It has been suggested, for Free-DC to manually remove the few days of points that were in error, but that seems like quite the ask. You can anonymously leave your opinion on that option at free-dc. https://stats.free-dc.org/chat/

An admin should restore an old version of the database prior to this debacle.

The issue started from updates after 00:00 UTC on 5th January. Task credits of 200 were being multiplied by 500 when added to the totals. What it needs is for the admin to clear the totals from then and rerun the calculation, if that's possible. As to why it started doing this is another issue to look into, as it will probably happen again.

It seems the project doesn't delete any task. So it should be possible to recalculate the credits.

Last I checked I should be around 1.6M+ instead of the hyperinflated number using the total number of tasks completed since I joined. I do however have close to 287 tasks pending validation mostly around those tasks reported on Jan 5th and 6th that likely will be lost and not credited so do the other top (inflated) hosts at this moment. Seems like the task pending validation issue is resolved after Jan 6th but not during the period of credit hyperinflation.

I have one of the overcredited Hosts too, and what i saw while it jumped high was, it was calculating "resend tasks". thats what was written in the event log. It was the only host that does not! say "databaseserver is not reachable" and looked like working normal. So i just though the host would be superlucky to get connection and calculation and gets superbonused xD But now i know it was an error and perhaps that helps to localize the problem futurewise. Hope they figure out the restore soon so i can see my real values in the boinc stats again, not losing REAL Credit rewards since then.

My credit has reduced but still appears high based on number of tasks.
Most tasks that showed in progress or pending validation have cleared but still shows 3 in progress (I have none).
Just realised last 3 have not timed out yet (I aborted some).
Paul.

It seems like most have returned. It's clear they did not just recalculate based off # of completed tasks x 200 for everyone.

The spacious project : https://spacious.ub.edu/

The project spaciousathome is only a small part of projekt spacious. The consortium invited us to join the project to enable collaboration among non-scientists. Funding for the spaciousathome and gaiaathome projects only covers the construction and launch of the service. Spaciousathome is currently being built and tested. Spaciousathome and gaiaathome are operated by volunteers, just like yours. Therefore, we cannot expect excellent and immediate service.

The spaciousathome and gaiaathome services are twins because that was the consortium's requirement (Gaia mission data is a subset of the data processed by the spacious project)

Let's hope that there will still be people willing to maintain the project, despite the allegations made against them. Preparing programs and requests for calculations is time-consuming, and I have consciously limited their use on the discussion forum.

We will try to keep gaiaathome and spaciousathome running for as long as possible, but this also depends on the interest in the service from other scientists who are willing to use its resources.

Therefore, services may experience periods of downtime, but this doesn't mean the project is complete.

The BOINC point-accident is a surprise. We don't know the reasons for this platform behavior, and we had to learn how to fix it. Unfortunately, we're concerned that this may happen again because we don't know the source of the error in the system.

Thank you Przemyslaw Bartczak for the clarification of the situation and I hope things run smoothly from now on.
